Just no fun at all for me.Īct of Aggression was a masterpiece of Old School RTS gaming brought back to life with a few more economy layers stacked on to make the game play even more interesting & challenging. SD 2 looks better & is much smoother with a lot of cool upgraded features that streamline the game play, but it plays completely different. One other thing to keep in mind is that most of the mods for N44 (and, indeed, the base game) are no longer being actively updated, whereas 2 is. N44 condenses those into one "damage" stat, which works in all three areas less realistic, but easier to keep track of in the heat of battle. In 2, weapons have a variety of stats, including penetration (in mm), damage output, and suppression. Probably the best example, IMO, of the difference between the two games is in the weapon stats. For example, N44 maps tend to be smaller, so there's less of a front to defend, while 2 has a "quick hunt" order ("hunt" being these games' version of "attack move:" N44 makes you choose between moving quickly on roads but being vulnerable to ambushes, or attack-moving, but not gaining the speed advantage of roads). The way I see it, N44 is easier, but 2 has more features. I don't play multiplayer, so your mileage may vary.

I personally prefer N44 over 2, but that's just my preference.
